Executive Profile: Jim Sheaffer of CSC
Jim Scheaffer is the President of CSC’s North American Public Sector (NPS); CSC’s largest business unit that provides solutions and support to United States and Canadian government agencies. Jim Scheaffer most recently was the vice president for CSC’s business area from 2003-2005. Scheaffer was also the General Manager for PRIME Alliance, CSC’s partner through the Business Systems Modernization program at the IRS.
Before joining CSC, Jim Sheaffer was Senior Vice President of American Management Systems, Inc. and spent a total of 27 years with AMS. As Chief Operating Officer for AMS telecommunications in North America and Europe from 1998-2002, Jim Sheaffer brought AMS to new Asian Pacific and Latin American markets . As AMS’s European general manager from 1990-1998, Jim Shaeffer created and oversaw 14 offices in 11 European countries through AMS’s financial services and telecommunications divisions.
Before his European general manager position, Jim Sheaffer established and led AMS’s information technology consulting and services practice that works with the United States Department of Defense. Jim Shaeffer also managed projects for the United States Departments of Energy, Labor and Housing and Urban Development, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency and GAO during his time at AMS.
Jim Sheaffer earned his BS degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. Jim Shaeffer also served as a United States Navy officer. Jim Sheaffer currently serves on the board of directors for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and the executive board of the Professional Services Council.
