Executive Profile: Duane Andrews of QinetiQ NA
Duane Andrews is chief executive officer of QinetiQ North America, a position he has held since June 2006. Duane began his career by serving in the Air Force, after which he joined the newly formed U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He went on to work as assistant secretary of defense, Command Control Communications and Intelligence/chief information officer in the Pentagon before joining Science Applications International in 1993. His tenure at SAIC included assignments as executive vice president for corporate development, president and chief operating officer for federal business segment, and executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Andrews earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and his master’s degree in management and supervision from Central Michigan University. He has served on various U.S. national security advisory groups. He is a recipient of the Defense Department’s Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, and a number of military awards including the Bronze Star medal. In 1999, he received the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s David Sarnoff Award.
