Executive Profile: Mark DeYoung of ATK

atkMark DeYoung was appointed as Alliant Techsystems’s president and CEO in February, 2010. He was also elected to serve on the company’s board of directors.

Before his recent appointment, DeYoung led ATK’s Armament Systems group as president. Under his management, the group expanded from approximately $600 million of revenue in 2003, to a projected $2.1 billion in revenue in 2010.

DeYoung began his career with the Hercules Aerospace Company, which was acquired by ATK in 1995. In 1999, he was named president of ATK’s Lake City ammunition business and took leadership for the company’s commercial ammunition business.

DeYoung earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Weber State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Westminster College.
