Executive Profile: Steven Gaffney of IAP

Steven  Gaffney joined IAP Worldwide Services, Inc. as chairman of the board May 2008, and was named CEO in January 2009. He also serves as a senior operations director for Cerberus Capital, the majority owner of IAP.

Gaffney has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the defense industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of ITT and president of ITT Defense Electronics and Services. Gaffney’s responsibilities included establishing ITT’s strategic direction, as well as financial and operating performances.

Early in his career, Gaffney led a start-up business within the integrated systems unit at Litton Industries, where he provided overall vision and direction including the strategic, technological and business plans. He implemented an Earned Value Management System and led multiple complex integrated Systems developments. Gaffney also successfully led program operations and advanced systems programs at Allied Signal and Smith Industries.

Gaffney holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lafayette College, and is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt.
