Shiv Krishnan is the founder, chairman and CEO of INDUS Corporation. He emigrated from India in 1979 and brought with him only $500 and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Madras. When he arrived in the United States, he decided to further his education at Clarkson University with a master’s degree in chemical engineering.

Krishnan worked with numerous government and commercial IT providers. Along the way, he improved his management skills by spending two summers at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, and after 13 years in the United States, he founded INDUS.

Krishnan serves on several boards, including recently as president of the Association for Corporate Growth, National Capital. He has been recognized as “one of the 20 people we admire in Washington business” by SmartCEO Magazine and was  named the 2002 SBA Small Business Person of the Year. He has also been named as a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year three times.

Krishnan advises the University of Virginia, George Mason University’s School of Management, and George Mason University Foundation as a member of their boards.
