Executive Who Cares: Robin Lineberger, Deloitte

Robin Lineberger

Robin Lineberger, CEO of Deloitte Federal Government Services, is well-known in the industry for his executive leadership and prowess.

His talents and work ethic have led to astounding increases in growth: from his staff of professionals at first BearingPoint and now Deloitte, to the number of contracts with the federal government (including with Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security.)

But Lineberger’s passion for progress doesn’t end on his professional resume.

On Oct. 16, Lineberger and a number of other sponsors will host a unique event for an organization close to Lineberger’s heart that has been hitting home runs in education for two decades.

The Fishing School, a unique public-private endeavor that provides educational opportunities after school and during other nontraditional school hours, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The celebration, which organizers are calling the “anti-black tie” event for its focus on fun and community, will take place at the Nationals Park on Saturday, Oct. 16. Paul DiMeo of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will emcee the event, and there will be cocktails in the dugouts, full use of the batting cages, venue tours, chef carving and tasting stations.

There will also be appearances by Washington Nationals mascot Screech, as well as Frank Howard of the original Washington Senators and Orioles star Mike Devereaux.

“The Fishing School has been serving the greater Washington community for the past 20 years with the goal of giving every child a brighter future through education,” Lineberger said. “The Oct. 16 event at Nationals Park will be instrumental in doubling the number of youth and families served by the Fishing School.”
