Security Conference Talks Growth Despite Economy

The Center for a New American Security is hosting its annual conference in June with a focus on managing global risk and growing opportunities in a constrained economy.

Several area contractors are sponsoring the event. BAE Systems signed on as a gold sponsor and Mission Essential Personnel, LLC announced this week its status as a platinum sponsor.

“It’s a privilege to support CNAS in any capacity, but particularly this year,” said Mission Essential CEO Chris Taylor. “Our current national security demands are at their highest in decades, while the resources to meet those demands are hotly debated and now more scarce. Threading this needle requires the kind of innovative thinking and disciplined discourse we’ve come to expect from CNAS. MEP is honored to contribute and I eagerly anticipate the conference.”

The conference will tackle topics dealing with cybersecurity and Internet freedoms, the ever-evolving conditions in the Middle East, the progress in Afghanistan and the emerging competition from Asia and the Pacific.

“For the past four years, the CNAS annual conference has brought together top experts to discuss the most pertinent national security topics of the day,” said CNAS President Dr. John Nagl. “Our fifth annual conference will continue in that tradition.”
