Profile: Terry Ryan, ManTech President of Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology Group

Terry Ryan, ManTech

Terry Ryan is president of ManTech International’s systems engineering and advanced technology group, a position he has held since September 2009.

Prior to joining ManTech, Ryan served as president and chairman for Mercury Federal Systems beginning in March 2007.

Prior to Mercury, Ryan served as senior vice president of strategic development for SAIC. There he was responsible for strategy, and mergers and acquisitions for the company’s intelligence, cecurity and technology group.

Prior to SAIC, Ryan was vice president and director for SRA International’s C4ISR center, where he directed programs and contracts related to the U.S. intelligence community.

Before joining SRA, Mr. Ryan was the president, CEO, and director of Adroit Systems Inc. Ryan’s official biography says he initiated a strategic growth campaign that resulted in a successful sale of the business to SRA in 2003.

Ryan also has directly advised top public officials, serving on the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board’s Transformation Advisory Group and the CIA director’s Constellation Architecture Panel.

Ryan has also held senior executive positions within the Defense Department. While serving in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, he was director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. He also served as deputy director of the Defense Airborne Reconnaissance Office.

Ryan also has served as a professional staff member on both intelligence committees in the House and Senate.

During his 10-year military career, Ryan served in the U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence as a senior intelligence analyst and in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantry commander and intelligence officer.
