Duane Andrews, QinetiQ

Duane Andrews is chief executive officer of QinetiQ North America.

Prior to QinetiQ, Andrews served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at SAIC Inc. His 13 years at SAIC also included service as president and chief operating officer of SAIC’s federal business segment, corporate executive vice president and executive vice president for corporate development.

Prior to entering the private sector in 1993, Andrews served in the Pentagon as assistant defense secretary for command, control, communications and intelligence. He was also the Pentagon’s senior intelligence, security and telecommunications official as well as the Pentagon’s chief information officer.

Andrews chaired the Pentagon’s review council for major automated information systems and the Defense Acquisition Board’s C3I systems committee.

Andrews has served on various national security advisory groups and commissions, including the congressionally-chartered Commission to Assess United States National Security Space Management and Organization. He is also active in a number of professional organizations and has received the David Sarnoff Award, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s highest honor.

Andrews’ military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry.

His civilian awards include the Defense Department’s Medal for Distinguished Public Service and the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal. Andrews holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.
