Harris to Present Open Source Healthcare Info Exchange in Vegas

Harris Corp.will present a healthcare information sharing solution at a healthcare conference from Feb. 21 through 23 in Las Vegas.

Harris said it will demonstrate its open source healthcare solution with Florida Hospital-Adventist and Strategic Health Intelligence at the HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase.

Harris developed a health information exchange system for Florida under a four-year $19 million contract.

Harris was tasked to develop a statewide exchange capable of supporting data sharing.

Harris said the system includes a patient look up and direct secure messaging applications.

The company will also co-present lessons learned in the process of creating the system for Florida.

Harris and the state’s Agency for Health Care Administration will give the presentation at a HIMSS12 educational session.
