The American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council has selected Unisys to receive the ACT-IAC Advanced Mobility Working Group’s leadership award for the company’s fleet management mobile application.

Unisys’ Fleet Management System to Go app works to scan data with built-in cameras in Android mobile devices, the company said Monday.

“We appreciate this recognition from ACT-IAC of GSA’s and Unisys’ innovative mobile apps capabilities,” said Casey Coleman, group vice president for civilian agencies at Unisys.

Unisys designed the mobile app for General Services Administration personnel to maintain vehicle inventories at vehicle delivery sites.

“As federal government agencies adopt bring-your-own-device programs, they are using smartphones and tablets to make government more efficient, improve services to citizens as well as cut costs,” Coleman said.

ACT-IAC presented the award to Unisys at the organization’s annual fair in Washington, D.C. on May 27.
