Kathy McElligott, formerly Emerson’s chief information officer, has joined McKesson as executive vice president, CIO and chief technology officer.
McElligott will succeed Randy Spratt on July 20 as the McKesson veteran is set to retire after nearly three decades of service for the company, McKesson said Monday.
McElligott will oversee McKesson’s enterprise business technology strategy, corporate-wide technology governance, information security and risk management, infrastructure operations and service delivery efforts.
She will also work to steer the company’s technology direction for healthcare technology products and guide the development of applications.
John Hammergren, chairman and CEO of McKesson, said McElligott’s background in strategic global technology would help in the company’s push to deliver value to customers and shareholders.
McElligott served as VP of information technology for Emerson’s power transmission before she was named VP of IT for industrial automation and later CIO.
She held various positions at General Electric for 22 years prior to joining Emerson.
