Executive Profile: Jeff Handy, Fulcrum President and CEO

handy_jeff_smallJeff Handy serves as president and CEO of Fulcrum, where he has responsibility for the company’s performance and profitability, works to drive its overall vision and establishes its long-term initiatives.

The more than 20-year technology leader with oversaw Fulcrum’s transition from a commercial products reseller into a federal IT engineering technical services contractor that works with defense, intelligence and civilian agency customers.

Handy previously worked for Government Micro Resources in a variety of positions, including a stint as leader of its professional services business unit before his elevation to company president and service on GMRI’s board of directors.

GMRI also provides IT services to Fulcrum’s government customer base and Handy provided strategic direction and oversaw revenue in his last position with the firm.

Handy earned a graduate degree in information systems from George Mason University and held vice president and director roles for BTG‘s military systems and C4ISR operations before he took leadership of that company’s business development efforts in the defense and intelligence community.

Handy graduated from Bluefield State College with degrees in accounting, management and computer science and spent more than six years working in the information systems division of the Naval Research Laboratory where he supported the Strategic Defense Initiative and researched Massively Parallel Computing, among other responsibilities.

Handy is a founding partner of NexGenVS, an early-stage technology company which “leverages a patented peer-to-peer architecture for live mobile video products” and serves on its board.

He also serves as treasurer and on the executive membership committees of the Young Presidents’ Organization among leadership positions of other organizations.
