Carpathia’s Colocation Services Receive ISO Certification; Peter Weber Comments

CarpathiaCarpathia, a QTS-owned subsidiary, has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization for colocation services the company offers through its data center in Northern Virginia.

Carpathia said Wednesday the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification specifies security requirements for information technology systems that organizations need to adopt in order to achieve compliance with the standard.

Peter Weber, chief product officer at QTS, said the new certification reflects the company’s efforts to deliver compliant IT platforms and services to clients.

Weber served as CEO of Carpathia until QTS acquired the hybrid cloud and managed hosting services provider for $326 million in cash in June.

Carpathia will use the new certification as it works to provide compliant colocation services to cloud platforms provider GovDelivery under a customer agreement.

GovDelivery tapped Carpathia in 2014 to help the former comply with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations requirement and the Attestation Standard Section 101 Service Organization Control 2 reporting framework.
