Former FAA Official Edward Bolton Appointed VP of Special Studies at Aerospace Corp.

Edward Bolton, a retired U.S. Air Force major, has been appointed as Aerospace Corp.‘s next vice president of special studies effective April 11.

The 37-year Air Force veteran will eventually take the role of senior vice president for systems planning, engineering and quality on July 1 to succeed the retiring Rand Fisher, Aerospace Corp. said Thursday.

Bolton previously worked as the assistant administrator for NextGen at the Federal Aviation Administration, where he oversaw the National Airspace System modernization and led a federal workforce of over 900 employees.

He has held various positions during his stint in the Air Force, including roles as a deputy assistant secretary for budget, deputy director for systems integration and engineering and commander of the 45th Space Wing, 30th Operations Group and the 30th Range Squadron.

He was also principal deputy to the National Reconnaissance Office chief operating officer and director for defense policy with the National Security Council.

Bolton received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico and master’s degrees in systems management and national security strategy from University of South California and National War College, respectively.
