CenturyLink plans to compete for task orders to provide wireless network transport support services outside the continental U.S. under the potential 10-year, $4.3 billion Global Network Services contract the Defense Information Systems Agency awarded in December.

The company said Thursday it is authorized to submit bids for virtual private networks, Wi-Fi, network security, software-defined networking, cloud, colocation, content delivery network, satellite and fiber-optic broadband services through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract.

DISA will use such services to support the operations of the Defense Information Systems Network and the Department of Defense Information Network worldwide.

Tim Meehan, head of CenturyLink’s federal government team and a senior vice president and general manager at the company, said the contract works to support the missions of combat commanders, warfighters and defense support agencies.

CenturyLink is one of the eight companies that secured spots on DISA’s GNS contract.
