Nonprofit organization (ISC)2 has unveiled the finalists of its 2016 U.S. Government Information Security Leadership Awards program that aims to recognize the efforts of individuals and teams in federal cybersecurity.
The 2016 GISLA recipients will be recognized in May 19 in Washington, D.C. and chosen from 16 finalists across six categories, the non-profit organization said Wednesday
This year’s GISLA is the 13th leg of the (ISC)2 U.S. Government Advisory Council-sponsored program since its inception in 2004.
“Those named ‘GISLA finalists’ are being recognized for their ability to navigate unchartered territory daily in order to protect our nation’s digital assets,” said Dan Waddell, (ISC)² director of U.S. government affairs and USGAC chair.
The categories include efforts in workforce, technology, process/policy, community awareness and contracting as well as an emerging cybersecurity professional and a most valuable industry partner.
