Alliance for Transportation Innovation Launches; Paul Brubaker Comments

b-w world-peopleWashington business leaders have launched the Alliance for Transportation Innovation organization comprised of companies, advocates and experts in transportation technology who seek to improve the country’s transportation systems through innovative technologies.

ATI21 will work with transportation innovation industry leaders, including the Consumer Technology Association, the consortium said Thursday.

Paul Brubaker, ATI21 chairman and a former administrator of the Transportation Department‘s Research and Innovative Technology Administration, said the alliance will conduct research, technology demonstrations, educational programs and media outreach activities to help deploy transportation technologies and services for the safe movement of people and cargo.

“Our goal is to focus our efforts on understanding the innovations and technologies available today — and those emerging from research and industry — to promote the social and economic benefits of deploying these technologies,” he said.

ATI21’s advisory board also includes:

  • Bob Walker – former chairman of the House Science Committee and current executive chairman of Wexler-Walker
  • Chris Carlson – founder of IOEDNA Incorporated
  • Bob Suda – former director of USDOT’s Volpe National Transportation Research Center and now CEO of Suda and Associates
  • Thomas Marchessault – former associate administrator for research and technology at USDOT
  • Jill Hochman – former senior executive director of interstate and border planning at USDOT
  • Sateesh Kumar – former innovation executive for IoT and transportation at Cisco Systems
