A team of Northrop Grumman and Davidson Technologies has received the Defense Department‘s Nunn-Perry Award for the group’s performance under DoD’s Mentor-Protege Program.
Northrop said Wednesday the mentor-protege arrangement takes place under the Missile Defense Agency‘s Joint National Integration Center Research Development contract.
The recognition represents the second time a Northrop-led JRDC mentor-protege team won the Nunn-Perry Award after Northrop and Boecore received the honor in 2008.
The award is named after former defense secretary William Perry and retired senator Sam Nunn, who sponsored a bill to enact the mentor-protege program in 1991.
Davidson Technologies is a woman-owned small business that offers engineering, technical and management services for defense, aerospace and commercial customers.
Northrop manages its mentor-protege program engagements under the company’s Global Supplier Diversity Program, which aims to open subcontracting opportunities for small businesses.
