MEF16 UNITE Partner Summit to Gather Open Source, Standards Leaders in Support of Orchestrated Services

mef16-imageOpen source and standards organization leaders are set to participate at the MEF16 UNITE Partner Summit in an effort to advance the use of standardized open application programming interfaces to drive the development of orchestrated services.

MEF said Monday the summit will be part of the MEF16 conference that aims to further standardization to support orchestrated on-demand connectivity and network functions virtualization services across multiple network domains and interconnected service and cloud providers.

“Realizing the ambitious vision of on-demand orchestrated services across many technology domains and multiple service providers requires SDOs, open source projects, service providers and technology companies to embrace new ways of working together that leverage the power of software within an open networking environment,” said MEF President Nan Chen.

The summit on Nov. 10 will also work to provide participants the opportunity to collaborate and understand the impact of SDO and open source initiatives on communications, MEF added.

Representatives from companies such as Cisco and Ericsson as well as organizations like the Open Networking Foundation and OpenDaylight are due to attend the summit.

The MEF16 global networking conference will run from Nov. 7 to 10 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel.
