Verizon Federal has named Kathleen Grillo the new senior vice president of federal regulatory affairs, at the Washington, D.C. office. Grillo will be taking over for Susanne Guyer, who just announced her retirement.
Kathleen Grillo earned both her B.A. and J.D. at the University of Virginia. She went on to work as an associate at Williams & Connolly law firm and as a clerk for Judge Harold H. Greene.
Grillo has been with Verizon since 2002, when she joined the legal department’s federal regulatory department as legal counsel. In 2003, she was named vice president of federal regulatory affairs.
“Kathy has the experience and respect needed to hit the ground running as Verizon’s primary advocate on policy issues before the Federal Communications Commission,” remarked Verizon executive vice president of public affairs, policy and communications, Tom Tauke. “She is an effective leader and will be a strong and fair proponent for consumer-friendly policies in the regulatory sphere.”
