Teresa Taylor takes over as COO for Qwest

On Monday, Business markets group head Teresa A. Taylor was appointed to fill the recently-vacated chief operation officer position at Qwest Communications International, Inc.

The move was made necessary after former COO Thomas E. Richards, who served for the past 13 months, left his post to accept an offer to become the president and COO of CDW Corp.

The 45-year-old Taylor will have her hands full right from the start, as Qwest continues to struggle and recently announced that it was cease its wireless service on Oct. 31, instead continuing to drive its remaining subscribers to its partner, Verizon Wireless. She’s been with Qwest since 2000, performing in a variety of roles that include Chief Administrative Officer, as which she served from 2004 to 2008. She also headed Qwest’s wholesale business unit and product and pricing group.
