Information technology services company, CACI International, and Vangent Inc., and information management and strategic business process outsourcing services provider, both showed increases in profits and revenue respectively from last year.

In the quarter that ended on June 30th, CACI reported a 23 percent increase in profits from the same quarter a year earlier. CACI reported that it had earned $29 million for that quarter in profits and $728.9 million in revenue, an 11 percent increase from the year before. The firm cites a decreased tax rate and higher revenue as the reasons for the profit boost.

Vangent Inc. reported a 14 percent increase in revenue for the quarter that ended on June 27th. Vangent’s revenue increased. The increase in revenue is mostly the result of contracts with various government agencies including the Department of Defense, the Department of State, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“Our business delivered a strong performance this quarter with significant year over year gains in Total Revenue, Operating Income and Adjusted EBITDA,” said Vangent President and CEO Mac Curtis. “These accomplishments reflect our continued focus on cost management and our ability to capitalize on our experience and expertise to further diversify our operations through key new business wins and extensions. In the midst of this challenging economy, Vangent has continued to prove its value proposition to its customers while continuing to generate strong operational momentum, positioning the Company for a strong second half of 2009.”
