Executive Profile: Dale McHenry of ATS Corporation

Dale McHenry is vice president of business development and oversees all sales and marketing, capture management and proposal operations.

McHenry’s career began in 1972 at the University of Maryland’s Administrative Computer Center as a software systems engineer. His studies in applications software led toward executive management positions, including his assignment as the director of systems engineering for a global $300 million Air Force Command, Communications and Intelligence Program.

McHenry served the U.S. government as the oversight director for the largest digital private network in the world, the FTS 2000 project. He was later appointed press spokesperson for the  GSA FTS 2000 Oversight Project.

McHenry was general manager of CENTEL Federal Services Corporation (acquired by TRACOR), where he managed a $35 million business portfolio with more than 350 professionals. In a succeeding role as chief operating officer at Cincinnati Bell Information Systems, he was responsible for managing Cincinnati Bell’s Federal IT portfolio.

McHenry was a key negotiator and the transition manager for the sale of CBIS to DynCorp. He became vice president of marketing and business development for DynCorp following the acquisition. Prior to joining ATSC in December 2009, McHenry was senior vice president at SI International with responsibility for delivery of federal programs involving systems integration, software engineering and other advanced technology services with a focus on IT consulting, enterprise solutions, information security and mobile applications.

McHenry has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Baltimore’s Merrick School of Business and an active executive member of the Baltimore Technology Council and the Information Systems Research Center at the University of Baltimore.
