John George

John George is senior vice president and chief information officer for Vangent, Inc. As such, he is responsible for the company’s technology-enable solutions for its clients. He leads the technical direction to create strategic business plans for development and business growth.

Before Vangent, George was vice president and client partner for AT&T’s Professional Services Organization. Here, he oversaw the company’s professional services business and delivered network solutions. He also managed AT&T’s Contact Center services business.

Earlier in his career, George held a number of IT and management positions. He had experience in the government as a tour as chief engineer for the Information Network Program Office at the Department of the Navy Headquarters. He was also senior practice director for Oracle’s consulting operations for the DoD.

He is also a member of IEEE, IAC’s Enterprise Architecture Special Interest Group, and a former member of the board of directors for the Council of Electronic Revenue Communication Advancement.

George earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech University.
