Executive Profile: Lee Holcomb of Lockheed Martin

lee_holcomb_caption-189x300Lee Holcomb is vice president of strategic initiatives and director of the Center for Cyber Security Innovation for Lockheed Martin. He is responsible for the managing of the company’s technological innovation, best practices and talent management and plays a key role in shaping technology initiatives with a significant focus on strategic research and development.

Holcomb joined Lockheed in 2006 and was vice president of advanced solutions before his current position. In this role, he supported program managers in identifying solutions and utilizing innovative technologies.

Before joining Lockheed, Holcomb was chief technology officer for the Department of Homeland Security, where he oversaw the development of the homeland security enterprise architecture, which included the foundation of the merger of 22 federal agencies to form the department.

Earlier in his career, Holcomb was chief information officer for NASA. Here, he led the Outsourcing Desktop Initiative.

He earned his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He went on to earn his MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
