SAIC’s Anthony Hess: Services Strengthen Quality of Life

SAIC’s Adolescent Substance Abuse Counseling Services program has received a contract from the Department of Defense to continue its substance abuse counseling services to adolescent family members of deployed U.S. military personnel.

The awarded blanket purchase agreement has a “six-month base period of performance, four one-year options and a ceiling value of $80 million,” according to the company.

“We have served this customer for nearly 23 years and find our support for the behavioral health needs of the children of our active duty personnel to be especially rewarding,” said Anthony Hess,  SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. “The services we provide support mission readiness and retention goals, strengthen quality of life and enhance family relations.”

The program serves U.S. Army Center for Substance Abuse Programs, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps dependents. The councilors reach out to adolescents at risk and encourage intervention with families by focusing on prevention, education, identification and referral to treatment services.
