Susan Parent is vice president of Human Resources for US Investigations Services, Inc. (USIS). In this position, she is responsible for coordinating employee compensation, benefits, and development strategies and works closely with the presidents of the company’s four divisions to lead each HR approach.
In an interview with ExecutiveBiz, Parent explained some additional duties that her role entails. “I get the opportunity to represent the government voice when it comes to things like benefits buying decisions and talent management plans and those types of things that we share across the Altegrity family of businesses,” she said.
Before assuming her current role in September 2008, Parent has held various positions of increasing responsibility within USIS. Parent served as director of Human Resources for the Investigative Services Division. Before that, she was director for that division’s Staffing and Employee Development, where she managed efficient and timely recruitment of new employees and developed defined career paths within the division. Earlier, Parent also led a team leader development program.
Before joining USIS, Parent worked in HR leadership roles in the retail and hospitality industries. “I felt strongly that the next possible move might be to take the service industry to the next level which for me was government contracting,” she told ExecutiveBiz.
Parent earned her B.S. degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and her M.S. degree in Human Resource Development at Villanova University.
