Northrop Grumman announced yesterday it will be moving its global headquarters from Los Angeles, Calif., to Falls Church, Va.
After a comprehensive site selection process, the global security company purchased a building at 2980 Fairview Park Drive and will begin operations in the new location beginning summer of 2011 with employees from Northrop Grumman’s Los Angeles and Arlington, Va., offices.
The company has said that about 300 jobs are associated with the move. The selection process was announced in April, but the decision was delayed as the Northrop Grumman was deciding between a potential site in Arlington and the one in Fairfax County.
According to FairfaxTimes.com, U.S. Rep. James Moran called the move “a win for Northern Virginia.”
“At their new location, Northrop Grumman will be able to draw on Northern Virginia’s talented work force while at the same time enjoy close proximity to their primary customer: the federal government and the Department of Defense,” he said.
