Heroines in Technology Honors Female Tech Execs

The 10th annual Heroines in Technology will be held Nov. 12, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Reston, Va.

The event recognizes and honors women in the technology field who have devoted their time to volunteer service in the community.

The black-tie gala will include a cocktail reception, dinner, live band, dancing and live and silent auctions. The event is organized by  March of Dimes and AFCEA NOVA.

This year, Dr. Betty Spence, president of National Association for Female Executives, will be the keynote speaker.

Included in the 15 finalists are: Theresa Carlson, vice president, Microsoft Federal; Deborah Diaz, deputy chief information officer, NASA; Linda Gooden, executive vice president of Information Systems & Global Solutions, Lockheed Martin; and Christine Schaefer, vice president of marketing, DLT Solutions.

All finalists will be recognized and winners announced in the following categories: individual, rising heroine, corporate and lifetime achievement.
