Lockheed Martin today announced coursework taken in its Center for Security Analysis will count for college credit at the American Military University, an online provider of armed forces education.

The two courses, Critical Thinking and Asymmetric Threat Operations, count toward an undergraduate degree from the university, with the latter counting toward a degree in Intelligence Studies, Security Management or Homeland Security.

In 2008, Lockheed Martin opened up the courses to a wider audience than solely defense professionals, based on high demand for training in data mining and analysis tools.

“The opportunity to receive intense, focused, intelligence analysis training and receive college credit at the same time is invaluable for members of our nation’s Intelligence Community,” said Bob Kramer, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions-Defense’s vice president for Operational Systems & Services. “Lockheed Martin is proud to offer coursework that meets the high standards of American Military University.”
