McAfee Names Gert-Jan Schenk as President of EMEA

McAfee Inc. has appointed Gert-Jan Schenk president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Schenk, who reports to Michael DeCesare, executive vice president of worldwide sales for McAfee, took on his new position Oct. 1. He is based out of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Before joining McAfee, Schenk served as senior vice president of EMEA at Juniper Networks. In that position, he managed nearly 900 employees throughout EMEA and improved Juniper’s global profitability and growth. Over the last four years, he grew its business from $600 million to $1.2 billion in revenue.

“Gert-Jan is a strong leader with 20 years of global sales and marketing experience in security, hardware and networking,” DeCesare said. “He has strong operational skills and a proven track record of success in driving large sales organizations at large, global companies. These qualities will make him an excellent addition to our team.”

McAfee’s current President of EMEA David Quantrell has decided to pursue other business opportunities. He continues to work with McAfee over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition to his successor.
