Powerwave Technologies Vice President of Government Solutions Jake MacLeod has organized and will moderate a panel on the future of wireless networks at the 2010 Military Communications Conference taking place this weekend in San Jose, Calif.

Panel members will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of government agencies’ use of wireless networks and how to expand adoption of new technologies and infrastructure.

In addition to the panel, Powerwave will be showcasing some of its products at the conference, including antennas, tower-mounted amplifiers, and LTE digital and WiMAX remote radio heads, among others.

“The commercial wireless communications industry has invested tens of billions of dollars in the competitive development of highly functional 3G wireless networks with enhanced features and functionality,” MacLeod said. “It is becoming increasingly clear to government and military entities that it would be advantageous to leverage the investment of the commercial sector to supplement their existing communications. As an industry leader in commercial wireless infrastructure, Powerwave is uniquely positioned to help lead the adoption of commercial technology within the government sector.”
