Getting in touch with your representatives just got a lot easier.

For the start of the 112th Congress, Apps42, Ltd. announced the release of CongressVotes 112.

Part of the company’s government transparency series, the app is a resource for legislators, legislative staff, industry and lobbyists, as well as private citizens.

The app is updated throughout the day, and offers an array of information on lawmakers, legislation, and voting records with title keyword searches.

Along with CongressVotes 112, CongressVotes 111 made its debut. The free app provides historical perspectives on the 111th Congress and offers shared features of the current CongressVotes 112 app.

“The Watch List feature tracks how legislators are voting,” said Jack Angelo, founder of Apps42. “With this mashup of legislators, legislation, and voting records, you can build your own Watch List to track selected lawmakers and legislation. Follow how they voted on any roll call vote in Congress.”

Both versions offer information on every senator and representative in the current Congress, including contact information, websites, committee assignments and affiliations.

All data displayed is collected from Govtrack.us, Project Votesmart, OpenCongress.org and Thomas.gov.

CongressVotes 112 and Congress 111 are designed for iPhone and iPod touch and are available for download in the Apple Store.
