The Holmes Group and Cisco announced last week a partnership that will focus on creating communities that use Cisco’s eco-friendly Smart + Connected Real Estate model.

The partnership seeks to develop combined residential and business environments that are sustainable and energy efficient.

Smart + Connected Real Estate raises the bar on sustainability. It combines basic eco-friendly practices with automated energy technologies.

The partnership is collaborating on the development of Wind Walk and eco-friendly energy-efficient designs for use in First Nation communities.

A mixed-use community in Alberta, Canada, Wind Walk will offer 457 green homes built on a self-supporting infrastructure.

Plans for Atikameksheng Anishnawbek (Whitefish Lake First Nation) include sustainable and efficient homes, green-community design and clean-energy sources.
