BAE Systems Building Wins LEED Certification

BAE Systems

BAE Systems announced this week the U.S. Green Building Council awarded its new Rockville, Md., facility a silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.

A LEED certification recognizes eco-friendly buildings designed with energy-conserving measures such as energy savings, water efficiency and indoor air quality in mind.

Designed and constructed by DBI Architects, Inc., KTA Engineering Group, CresaPartners and Davis Construction, the 139,000-square-foot building houses BAE Systems’ support of the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems program, the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems and the NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System.

“This recognition demonstrates BAE Systems’ commitment to providing high quality and efficient work spaces for our employees,” said Richard Anderson, vice president and general manager of Integrated Technical Solutions at BAE Systems Support Solutions. “Our investment in an eco-friendly, state-of-the-art facility will enable us to continue providing innovative solutions to our customers.”
