CareVeillance monitors and evaluates patient care information in a real-time, clinical environment. The system alerts caregivers to early signs of serious conditions, leading to a more pro-active course of treatment, and monitors core measures in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements.
The software draws data from multiple systems into one repository, and analysis the information for root causes of conditions. Assessments are more efficient, courses of treatments start sooner and risks of re-admission are identified.
“We are excited about the ability of this technology to help us deliver world-class patient care to the people we serve,” said Dr. Greg Ator, CMIO of The University of Kansas Hospital. “We were enthusiastic to work on the development and rollout of this tool, and think it has the potential to be a real game changer in healthcare.”
CSC believes CareVeillance will reduce medical costs, complications, hospital acquired conditions and readmission rates with better management.
“CareVeillance is part of CSC’s effort to transform healthcare by delivering better information for better decisions,” said Mark Roman, president of CSC’s Global Healthcare Services Group. “By providing real-time information on high-risk patients and adverse events, CareVeillance can help providers save lives. The new software tool also helps hospitals meet all the requirements for quality reporting of electronic health records.”
