Like death and taxes, customers wanting more for less are something companies can always count on. Current economic stresses only accentuate the pressure to provide better service at lower rates.
Virtela, a managed network, security and cloud services company, released this week results of an infrastructure priority survey of U.S.-based multinational companies.
The survey polled 400 IT professionals to determine satisfaction with managed service provider’s offerings, delivery, management and pricing. Results found four out of five IT professionals placed top priority on value and good service. Survey respondents ranked infrastructure management, security, data center consolidation, application acceleration and cloud solutions as IT infrastructure priorities.
Cookie-cutter solutions no longer satisfy clients. Customers want IT solutions that cater to their individual needs. They want flexibility and personalized, knowledgeable design.
Virtela’s survey also found a dwindling lack of patience for issue resolution. Customers want timely service and open communication regarding problems. Basically, they want better customer service.
“These survey results validate that there is room for all managed service providers to better understand the needs of their customers, improve service delivery and ensure timely communication when issues surface,” said B.V. Jagadeesh, Virtela CEO.
