Deloitte is playing host this month to undergraduate springbreakers in the company’s fourth annual Maximum Impact program.
Combining recruiting with volunteerism, Deloitte teamed up with United Way to invite 52 disadvantaged students to D.C. March 12-18. The program’s activities are designed to encourage college degree completion, prepare graduates for entry into the workforce and to foster a spirit of service to communities.
“United Way shares Deloitte’s profound commitment to education, and to inspiring our country’s future leaders to become engaged in volunteer service,” said Randy Punley, director of corporate and media partnerships at United Way. “We applaud Deloitte for its outstanding leadership in this area, and we’re proud to work with them again on Alternative Spring Break.”
Deloitte and Teach for America will then take 35 students to Memphis, Tenn., March 20-24 to assist local teachers and participate in improving school facilities.

Deloitte sees the Maximum Impact program as a useful hiring tool as well as a community outreach program. The company expects to add 5,400 jobs this year.
