Harris, RSA, VCE Form Cloud Alliance

Harris Corporation, EMC’s security division, RSA and the Virtual Computing Environment Company are teaming up to develop cloud solutions.

Hoping to spur adoption of cloud technology, the alliance plans to develop commercial and government solutions that highlight the benefits of shared resources while maintaining individual security.

Combining Harris’s enablement technologies with VCE’s Vblock infrastructure platform, the team hopes to deliver a cloud solution that enhances security, performance and availability.

The resulting product will be marketed for Harris Trusted Enterprise Cloud services.

“Cloud computing can change the fundamental nature of enterprise operations enabling growth, improving effectiveness and reducing costs,” said Dale W. Meyerrose, vice president and general manager of Harris Cyber Integrated Solutions. “Combining the technology and expertise of Harris, RSA and VCE will produce a next-generation cloud solution based on trusted multi-tenancy and drive the adoption of today’s enterprise cloud solutions.”

The alliance plans on expanding its cloud focus to include migration tools and publication of best practices to aid in cloud adoption.
