Following that call, IBM announced today new software and a consulting service designed to give the technology firm an advantage on meeting its customers growing expectations.
Spurred on by customer demands for quicker responses to market and buying changes created by social networking and mobile communications, Smarter Commerce enhances IBM’s ability to offer customers deeper analysis of business strategies and addition automation in marketing, sales and production to speed the delivery of products and services.
“It’s a buyer’s world now,” said Craig Hayman, general manager, IBM Industry Solutions. “Businesses require a tighter and highly responsive network of suppliers and partners to ensure they deliver the right product or service at the right price, time and place. The key to business success in this unfolding environment is predicting trends and automating market responses in advance to eliminate the gaps between buy and sell, supply and demand.”
IBM’s Smarter Commerce builds on its WebSphere Commerce platform and cloud software acquired from the purchases of Sterling Commerce, Unica and Coremetrics.
Smarter Commerce provides customers with analytics cloud software to monitor company presence on social media. IBM says the enhanced monitoring allows for better marketing campaigns. The program also offers software that automates online and mobile marketing campaigns and promotions, as well as educational tools.
