Vangent Releases Guide to Good Governance

Maintaining a lean, efficient, competitive edge in today’s budget conscious market is priority one, and Vangent, Inc. wants to help federal agencies get there.

The consulting and strategic business process services company released its Guide to Good Governance this week. From cloud-computing strategies to over-all IT architecture, Vangent offers step-by-step guidance for federal agencies tasked with compliance while budget challenged.

“While the costs of implementing and operating an enterprise architecture program primarily stem from the IT function of an organization, several other departments — such as human resources, marketing, legal, and procurement – benefit as well,” said Mac Curtis, president and CEO. “Vangent’s first-hand experience with deploying enterprise architecture and realizing the remarkable results leading to effective governance provided the basis for creating this guide.”

The guide was prepared by Simona Lovin, director of Health Solutions, and head of the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice at Vangent. Lovin has overseen and managed enterprise changeovers for Fortune 500 companies and headed up the Data Architecture and Business Process Modeling practices for the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation.

The guide explains the impact enterprise architecture has on good governance practices, how it improves IT and the agency, and instructs agencies on how to implement enterprise architecture.
