HP Technology Makes Government Cloud Secure Services Available to the Public

HP Technology has made its Government Cloud Secure Services available to the public sector. Lilia Guan of Government News of Australia reports Alan Bennett, vice president of enterprise services, said HP waited to launch its services to ensure compatibility with AGIMO’s cloud-computing strategic direction.

HP’s cloud services includes secure processing capacity to meet specific agency needs as well as delivering services through a Defence Signals Directorate-certified secure gateway. Analysts say the public sector needs to get serious about offering cloud computing services to ensure protection of data and network security.

“The journey to cloud offers agencies a clean sheet of paper without having to replace legacy systems,” Bennett said. “HP government Secure Cloud Services minimizes the risk and uncertainties of a cloud infrastructure services and delivers technology assets to run agency applications as they need them.”

Bennett also addressed concerns regarding data protection in his statement, saying HP data centers throughout Australia will ensure public-sector data does not leave the country.
