In honor of its 10th anniversary of becoming a public company, Accenture announced it will be ringing the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange at 4 p.m. today.

Accenture’s Chairman William D. Green and Chief Executive Office Pierre Nanterme will preside over the ringing of the closing bell to commemorate the event.

“We are delighted to be commemorating our 10th anniversary as a public company at the New York Stock Exchange,” Nanterme said. “Since 2001, Accenture has grown on a truly global scale.”

According to Accenture, its common shares were first listed on the NYSE on July 19, 2001, at a price of $14.50 per share. At yesterday’s market closing, Accenture’s share price was $59.98, representing a compounded annual growth rate of 15 percent.

“In June, we reported our third-quarter fiscal year 2011 results, posting our highest quarterly revenues and record quarterly EPS,” Nanterme said. “Our focus remains on driving sustainable and profitable growth through industry differentiation and technology leadership, and continuing to deliver superior value to our clients and shareholders.”

The event will be available as a live webcast just before 4 p.m. today on the NYSE website.
