Commission Releases Blueprint for Federal Cloud Computing

The TechAmerica Cloud2 Commission released its highly anticipated report Tuesday on how the federal government should adopt cloud computing technologies, including a Cloud First Buyer’s Guide for Government.

The Commission made 14 recommendations in its report in the areas of trust, transnational data flow, transparency and transformation.

“Today’s recommendations by the commission will help further accelerate adoption of cloud computing within the government infrastructure,” said VCE chairman and CEO Michael Capellas, VCE and the Commission’s Co-chair.

The Commission developed the Cloud First Buyer’s Guide for Government to assist government agencies as they evaluate and purchase cloud services and solutions.

Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra will receive the recommendations for government deployment. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and Pat Gallagher, under secretary for standards and technology will receive the recommendations for the private sector.
