Cubic Global Tracking Solutions, the asset visibility solutions provider of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), is providing wireless mesh network technology to the U.S. Army to track military vehicles and equipment at the Army’s Camp Arifjan Wash Rack near Kuwait City, Kuwait.
Cubic GTS first demonstrated its mesh network tracking capabilities in early 2011 under the Army Logistics Innovation Agency’s asset visibility program known as Next Generation Wireless Communications for Logistics Applications, delivering 2,000 new mesh network asset tags at Camp Arifjan in conjunction with prime contractor ARINC Engineering Services, LLC.
“This implementation of Cubic GTS mesh networking is part of an end-to-end asset-tracking concept being developed with the U.S. Army’s Logistics Innovation Agency,” said Mary Ann Wagner, president of Cubic Global Tracking Solutions. “The goal is to provide enhanced logistics situational awareness and global, near-real-time asset visibility across the Department of Defense distribution networks.”
Cubic GTS is a subcontractor to ARINC Engineering Services in delivering the NGWC solution. The Army Mobility Asset Tracking System, which integrates wireless communications with sensors to provide a secure, wireless, automatic ID network, is being implemented by the Logistics Innovation Agency in conjunction with Army Sustainment Command and Army Central Command.
