Northrop Grumman Receives Proclamation from City of Boulder

Boulder Mayor Susan Osborne presents Ron Alford with the proclamation

Northrop Grumman has received top honors from the city of Boulder. The defense technology company was issued a proclamation, signed by Boulder Mayor Susan M. Osborne and presented to Ron Alford, Northrop Grumman’s director, Sensor Exploitation Systems and Colorado Campuses, on June 13.

The proclamation, which reads, “Northrop Grumman is a trusted supplier of military space systems, joint tactical ground systems, expertise in missile defense and mission support to military operations for many years through its statewide workforce of over 2,400 employees,” was given to recognize the company’s continuous contributions to the Colorado economy as well as national security.

The company has been an active presence in Boulder for 15 years, offering services including processing capabilities that allow military units stationed on the ground to receive data from space-based sensors. Northrop has active involvement with the military-its employees work closely with regional military bases including Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, and the company has developed various technologies to serve military needs.

“Our presence in Boulder is dedicated to developing systems that enhance global security,” Alford said. “In addition, our employees have contributed a great deal to the community, including support to the Boulder Homeless Shelter, the MESA [Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement] program and Adopt-a Soldier, among other organizations.”
