Pulitzer Prize Winner Douglas Frantz Joins Risk Consulting Firm Kroll

Douglas Frantz, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former deputy staff director and chief investigator, has joined risk consulting firm Kroll as a senior member of the business intelligence and investigations practice. Franz will advise law firms, corporate and government clients on various domestic and international issues in his new position.

Frantz brings an extensive background in journalism and foreign policy to his work with Kroll. As an investigative reporter, foreign correspondent and investigations editor at The New York Times from 1994-2003, he was part of the team that earned the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service coverage of the war in Afghanistan and the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Upon leaving the Times, he was managing editor of the Los Angeles Times from 2005-2007 and has also worked as an editor and investigative reporter at the Chicago Tribune. His work as deputy staff director and chief investigator for the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee involved oversight of major investigations into topics ranging from counter-narcotics strategies in Afghanistan to arms smuggling in the U.S. and Mexico.

“I am pleased to welcome Doug to Kroll,” said Robert Brenner, Esq., vice president of business intelligence and investigations in the Americas. “His vast experience on the international stage will be an invaluable asset to our clients whether they are seeking investment opportunities in emerging markets, rooting out corruption in a far-flung subsidiary or assessing the political landscape at home or abroad.”

Frantz will be based in Washington, D.C.
