SAIC Earns Award for Commitment to Veteran-Owned Businesses

SAIC has received the Champions of Veterans Enterprise Award by the National Veteran Small Business Coalition, honored for the company’s commitment to working with veteran-owned small businesses.

SAIC has made a continuous effort to support veteran-owned small businesses, awarding over $460 million in subcontracts to veteran-owned businesses with over half of that going to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses in the government fiscal year 2010. This marks the fourth consecutive year that SAIC has exceeded the statutory 3% goal for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.

The tech applications company has also implemented a series of initiatives focused on developing strong relationships with veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, including training in business development and pricing strategies to more than 150 veteran-owned businesses at no cost, in order to increase business opportunities for them.

“At SAIC, we believe veteran-owned small businesses bring the needed capabilities and subject matter expertise to enable SAIC to better serve our customers and their missions,” said Jim Cuff, SAIC executive vice president for Business Development, Strategy and M&A. “We are particularly honored to receive this award as it is a recognition of our company’s commitment to work with those who have made the sacrifice to serve and continue to serve our country.”
