John Crapo is the senior vice president of business development for Kforce Government Solutions and a member of its executive leadership team.
Crapo creates and implements short to long-term strategies to successfully win new business for KGS. Crapo also is responsible for the daily direction of marketing, business development, capture management, proposal operations and lobbying activities.
Crapo’s business development background spans over 20 years in the defense and IT industries. During that time, he has worked in all facets of operations and developed broad expertise in federal consulting and systems integration within the civil, defense, and intelligence markets.
Crapo’s areas of expertise include innovative thought leadership and capture strategy development. Other areas include strategic planning and competitive analysis, cost estimating and analysis, strategic pricing, incentive and performance-based contracting, strategic market analysis, account penetration, and team building.
Before joining KGS, Mr. Crapo was the deputy vice president of business development and director of national security sector capture management at SRA International. He served as the capture executive for SRA’s highest priority strategic engagements; leading and overseeing bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal development efforts that supported $800 million in revenues.
Prior to SRA, Crapo spent over 12-years at Lockheed Martin where he gained a wealth of experience by serving in numerous positions spanning all aspects of operations. He served as a senior program manager, senior capture adviser, corporate director of IT and director of tactical edge intelligence.
Crapo holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Akron. He also holds an MBA from Temple University, and executive leadership development from the Wharton School of Business.
